It depends. To establish notability, the band needs coverage from multiple independent, reliable sources. Meeting any of the other criteria at Wikipedia:Notability (music) also works. Impact Module

At the beginning of November 2023, the Growth team deployed the New Impact Module to all Wikipedias. We recently released a follow up improvement to how edit data was displayed based on editor feedback. [1]

Add a Link

We released “add a link” to 35 more Wikipedias. [2] [3]

We have a few Wikipedias remaining:

• German and English Wikipedia will be contacted at the beginning of January 2024.
• There are a few small wikis that will not receive the task until they have enough articles for the algorithm to work properly.

Community Configuration

• We shared Community Configuration 2.0 plans with technical stakeholders. [4] 🖂
• Initial Community Configuration design ideas have been shared and discussed with community members.
• A basic Community Configuration 2.0 demo is released on ToolForge.
• Developers can find some initial proof of concept code shared on gitlab.

Mentorship

When a mentor marked themselves as "Away", they were not getting their name assigned to new accounts when they returned. This has been fixed. [5]

We improved the message received by newcomers when their mentor quits, to reduce confusion. [6]

We worked on ensuring that all mentees are assigned to an active mentor. This required reassigning mentees with no mentors to a new mentor. We paused this as the clean-up script confused some editors. We will resume it when the identified blockers are resolved. [7]

It is now possible to create an Abuse Filter to prevent one user from signing up as a mentor. [8]

@Lanitaf: When you enter editing mode, there should be a button at the top that says "Cite." Click on that, and fill in the necessary details. It should be formatted automatically. Unless you feel it is crucial for reader understanding, or has generated secondary news coverage, calling Trump a "chatty Charlie" is generally not something we would include in the article. @Chamosuhdod: Five days is still remarkably shorter than a few months ago, where articles were taking up to five months to be reviewed. As I mentioned previously, I don't speak Arabic, nor am I familiar with its news orgnizations, so I can't accurately assess whether the sources are reliable or secondary. I'd like to note that none of the two articles you mentioned have been through the AfC process, so haven't been through this type of review. As I mentioned, none of the two articles have passed through the AfC process. The solution is to wait, someone will eventually review your article, whether because they speak Arabic, or whether they are willing to use a machine translation. Wikipedia Manual of Style: Infobox

Happy Holidays! I asked a “user” to provide the rule they used to indiscriminately delete the occupations from an infobox, and they failed to respond. I have reviewed Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes, and it seems I complied with “the purpose of an infobox: to summarize (and not supplant) key facts that appear in the article (an article should remain complete with its summary infobox ignored, with exceptions noted below).” I’m not clear what to do next: get a second opinion, or simply restore what was taken? Considering the source: the user has a vandalism rating of 3, and uses profanity in disagreements with other editors, i.e., a clear liability to both Wikipedia's reputation, and the cohesion of its editors. Hi, @SPS888:

Just to be clear, that guideline also states that there is no rule for what to include in an infobox; it should be determined via consensus on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, the vandalism rating isn't a reflection on the user (I have the same template on my user page!), it's supposed to give editors an idea of how frequently others are vandalizing articles, enabling us to determine if we need to help patrol recent changes. My recommendation is to discuss with the editor; if they fail to respond after a reasonable amount of time, feel free to restore.

However, I'd like to note that their removal of the middle name is correct. The "Name" parameter is supposed to be for the name most commonly used in sources, not their full name (which can go in birth_name). Most of the sources I checked in the article refer to her as LaDoris Cordell. ARandomName123 (talk)^{Ping me!} 17:42, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

Vandalism is a pretty harsh word; I’m not sure if it’s a productive way to label the issue…  Regarding the naming convention: If television appearances are included in the sources, the birth name is included more often than not: https://judgecordell.com/audio-video. 

I think the overriding issue here is one user is creating content in good faith, while another is indiscriminately destroying content without explanation. It's inefficient. SPS888 (talk) 19:03, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

Can/should the Template "Infobox person" be changed?

Hi, @ ARandomName123: Instead of reverting to the "occupations" that were deleted, can/should the "Template Infobox person" be changed to "Template: Infobox officeholder." If so, how? Why: I'm not clear how to add the following to the current Infobox template:

@SPS888: Yes, that should be fine. I've converted the template to Template:Infobox Judge (which is a version of Template:Infobox officeholder) by simply switching the wikitext from {{Infobox person to {{Infobox judge. Hi, @Usedtobecool: When I marked the article as reviewed, the documents hadn't been released yet and the article was just some background info that didn't include the names of BLPs (iirc). Most of the BLP concerns were inserted a few hours afterwards, once the documents were released. I acknowledge the title isn't the best, and I did mention that on the talk page, but I thought that an undiscussed move might have been contested.
