" We love the search function! The autosuggest list that appears as you type is fast and is highly accurate. It makes our support website look so pro! " - Alex Newnham, Managing Director, Launston Group Limited
We run our main website on WordPress and looked at various KB themes. It really wasn't looking very easy though. A decent KB-type theme with the required functionality would run at around $300/yr, plus hosting and maintenance. You then have to devote time to building it, styling it so on.
The real 'deal breaker' for WordPress was twofold. First, the effort required to keep content SEO-friendly. You need to install additional plugins, take care to add tags and so much more. The massive WordPress 'No No' though was searched. Anyone who uses WordPress knows that search, out of the box, frankly sucks!! This meant we'd have had to add in another plugin (at the cost of $99/yr). All in all much too complicated.
We tried a WordPress-type KB. Too complicated. We also have some experience with Helpscout. Helpscout is good from a support ticket perspective but the KB isn't as robust as Helpjuice.
Helpjuice solved ALL these issues. It worked straight out of the box. We don't have to worry about hosting or maintenance. Search is truly epic and SEO is configured beautifully. We did look at a few other options but almost all centered around an email support type system with a KB base as something of an afterthought. Helpjuice is brilliant because it was clearly designed to BE a Knowledge Base. This means even things like the editor (so often overlooked) are fab to use.

We wanted to establish an education portal that could be used as a point of reference for both our customers and our engineers. As Plumbing & Heating engineers there is a lot of technical content and we could see a real need for a technical library that could be built over time.
We're in the process of fully setting up our KB base at the moment. We've saved probably 50+ hrs not building it in WordPress and anticipate being able to publish new content 50% faster vs. using the WordPress UI. We gauge that we'll save around 10hrs per month on WordPress maintenance-type issues by using Helpjuice.
