- 3 January: Private companies were allowed to operate drug rehabilitation centres in the country.[1]
- 4 January: President Muizzu launched a multimillion-dollar project to upgrade Velana International Airport to boost the capacity to 25 million passengers,[2] which caused seaplane terminals to be relocated to Funadhoo for the project to continue.[3] Muizzu planned the creation of an establishment with the name "Maldives International Financial Services Authority" and planned Funadhoo to be an international financial hub.[4][5]
- 7 January: Male' Prison evacuated and closed due to the close proximity to other schools and colleges and relocated.[6]
